Fundstück aus dem Netz: Der Künstler George M. Vasilescu in seiner aktuellen Ausstellung in Rumänien, schreibt diesen Brief:
Hello,
My name is George Vasilescu and i started on art scene in Romania with an art exhibition at Muzeul Taranului Roman in Bucharest.
http://www.muzeultaranuluiroman.ro/home.html
My exposition include 15paintings inspired by famous roma singers from Romania and one of Goran Bregovic. I am as well a roma artist. The place where i am exhibit my paintings are in special rooms for exhibitions of contemporany art. I am presenting 9 portraits of famous manele singers from Romania, one of Goran Bregovic and 5 paintings ,group portraits inspired by bands as Taraf du Haiduks and Fanfara Ciocarlia. This exhibition started a wave of racial hatered and a storm of racial mesages incorege by a politician who has posted on his facebook page a messege that started a lot of comment full of hate for the roma people. My works have been treatened by beeing destoyed and people are asking for the resignation of the director of the museum. The director of the museum ,is a person of freedom of expresion just opposed to censorship. It is inadmissible what is going on these days, that my paintings started so much rage. They are just portraits painted in oil on canvans and have insertion of gold leaves. The messeges posted on the page of the politician named Bogdan Diaconu is just an affront for the freedom of expresion. I have painted portraits of other artist and i have never expected to a such a violent storm of injurys. His page is:

Allmoust all the comments on his status are just rasial and is not exepted in 2014 this type of instigation to racial discrimination and hate. These days in Romania is an exhibition that is creating so much controversy and will be open to the public until 8 july but i am really affraid the works will be vandalized.
You can see images from the opening that took place on 02.07.2014here:

The people in their comments demand to remouve the paintings from the museum, they demand to censor this exhibition because of the subject wich i found totaly inadmisibile in a free Europe.
The concept of exhibition was we cant judge a perosn for the way he is feeling joy or happynes when they are lisening to a type of music that anyhow is lisneing by milions of fans all over the world.
Personaly i receive a lots of messeges full of discrimination and hate. One of the paintings wich i attach here is the portrait of famous artist Goran Bregovic.
I think is a story that should be known and subject to public opinion.
Thank you,
George Vasilescu.
