Geographical

Teaca commune is situated in the South-East part of Bistrita-Nasaud County. Teaca locality includes the villages: Ocnita, Archiud, Pinticu,Viile Tecii and Budurleni.

The center commune is situated on the National Road 15A (made from asphalt), which crosses the locality from North to South, binding Bistrita and Reghin on a portion of 14 kilometers. The villages, Sieu and Milas (Pintic-Ocnita) are also situated on a National Road - 17B - on a portion of 20 kilometers. The communal roads are in 50% paved and in the agricultural area are from stone and earth.

The railway absence from Teaca and the neighbor localities makes the road to be the single solution to access the commune. Teaca locality and Viile Tecii are crossed by the National Road 15A, while the relation between Ocnita - Teaca - Pinticu is realized by the National Road 17B. Both roads are made from asphalt. Between Teaca - Archiud and ViileTecii - Budurleni existing only roads from stone and earth. Towards Budurleni and Archiud don't exist no means of transport while through the other localities have circulated buses several times day by day in weekdays and two buses by day in weekend.


The background of Teaca commune

The archaeological diggings and discoveries certify that Teaca locality and its component villages are dated since Neolithic.

The geographical position of the locality had favored the settlements still Dacian Age and had constituted the zone of relation between Roman centers from Orhei-Bistrita and Reghin-Brancovenesti. This is proved today by the Roman road from Teaca`s hill, Hagau.

The first documentary certificate of the locality dates from 1318. The lengthways of time the commune Teaca has had a lot of names like: Teke-1318, Opidum Teke-1446, Vilia Theke-1464, Tyaka-1808, Tekendorf-1854.

The villages' affiliation

The Pinticu village is surrounded in North-East by the high hills of Sieu-Sinioara, where are strong grit stones; in South-West is situated the Dipsa depression.

The Teaca village is situated on the North-Vest part of the Dipsa valley. The relief of this zone is formed in North from high hills and in South-East from low hills.

The Viile Tecii village is situated on the axle of the Dipsa brook. The relief of this village is formed from hills around the plain.

Teaca, Pinticu and Viile Tecii villages are situated on the major riverbed of the Dipsa brook and on the limitary zone's slopes, having the adequate stability.

Ocnita and Archiud villages are situated on the East border of the Transylvania plain and on the depression of the Dipsa valley, which is united with the western borders.
